{Portraits}

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

So the girls went to get their portraits done on Friday and DH picked the prints up yesterday when he took the girls to the park. They weren’t the “perfect” poses, but they were okay. :) So that night I “scanned” them (took a picture of each of the pictures LOL) and made my Christmas card using a postage frame by Paislee Press & Taylormade at Oscraps and snowflakes by Rachel Young…they were foil but I changed the contrast until they were a solid white. I used my Pampers points to get 25 free Shutterfly photo cards and all I had to pay was $6.99 for shipping! I’ll be scrapping these photos very soon for sure. ;)

For SSD’s From Our Blog 2 Yours for 10/23, they want to know what our jack-o-lantern says about us. Here’s my results, but it’s not right at all. I am no grouch and am optimistic most of the time. :)

What Your Jack-o-Lantern Says

You tend to be a bit of a grouchy person. The scrooge of Halloween. And while you may complain about it, you would miss Halloween if it didn’t come around.

This Halloween you should embrace your inner grump - be a warlock or a witch. The candy you should give out: sour patch kids

The Jack-o-Lantern Quiz

I haven’t felt like scrapping too much lately but I did finish one up today for SSD’s Cookie Decorating 101 using Mandabean and Zoe Pearn’s Just Too Funky. I have used this kit before but the colors were just too perfect for the picture!

Did you hear SSD is getting a new look and a new cart? from 11-8 to 11-14 the site will be down to do all the fixing…what am I going to do for a whole week? Clean the house maybe? LOL Robin said she’d see if she can keep the forums up. I hope so! I don’t shop there much because my CTs are all there and I get all I need for free, but I am in the forum constantly! That is going to be one sad week if there’s no forum…

That’s it for me for now! Next time I blog I’ll have an announcement to make! Have a great Sunday night!

{Ugh…}

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

So, to fill you in on what’s been going on with me since last week…my UTI didn’t go away and I got my urine sent to be cultured on Tuesday. The doctor said if they find anything in it, they’ll call me within 2-3 days. If not, they won’t call and I might have something called Interstitial Cystitis. That doesn’t sound fun at all. So, since Tuesday I have been dealing with the need to pee and a bit of burning ALL the time. I haven’t felt like being online or scrapping and I’ve been going to bed earlier than usual just to get away from the feelings. I don’t wake up at night to use the bathroom and that is a Godsend I think. Anyway, I have a doctor’s app’t on Sept.5th to get a referral to a urologist and we’ll go from there with testing and such. My body just loves having problems…IBS, UTI’s, kidney stones, hives, etc. I’m so tired of being sick and having chronic annoyances all the time. :(

We had our annual street yard sale today. Not a whole lot of people did it, but in the spur of the moment this morning when I couldn’t sleep, I decided we should lug everything out that we wanted to sell. didn’t sell a whole lot…a toddler chair, baby gate, a baby outfit and a CD, but, it’s $18 more than we had this morning! I’m going to put a bunch of stuff on Kijiji (like Craig’s List) and see if anything will sell there. And umm…I got pretty burnt sitting outside for so long. I did put sunscreen on, but forgot to put it on my chest since I was wearing a V-neck t-shirt. It doesn’t feel as bad as it looks, which is good. It’s just a bit warm.We have had a kitten hanging around our yard since yesterday. Kristen wants to keep it and she keeps playing with it and then her friends brought over some of their cat food to feed it…nice. We don’t WANT a cat right now! It’s really cute and friendly, but we just don’t want one…so now I gotta post places to see if anyone lost it. I hope someone calls soon!

Anyway, I did scrap a few pages since the last time I posted but one I can’t post because the challenge isn’t up on La’s blog till Monday.

For SSD’s From Our Blog 2 Yours for 8/21, they wanted to know “who we were in high school”…yeah, I was the arty kid although I wasn’t a drama freak or an emo poet. :)

You Were the Arty Kid

Whether you were a drama freak or an emo poet, you definitely were expressive and unique.

You’re probably a little less weird these days - but even more talented!

Who Were You In High School?

That’s it for me…dunno when I’ll blog again, but you’ll be the first to know if I do! ;) Oh, and don’t forget, my Designer Spotlight ends tomorrow at Oscraps, so use the code JLD-Ospotlight to get $2 off your order and/or create a layout using my template available here and 75% my designs to be eligible for one of 3 $15 GC’s to my store!

{Independance Day sale!!}

Friday, July 4th, 2008
Happy 4th of July!!
I am Canadian, but because I was away for the Canada Day celebrations, I am having my sale now! From July 4th-9th get 40% off everything in both my stores (except blinkies & professional use products)

Click {here} to go to JLD or {here} to go to Oscraps!

Sorry I didn’t blog on Friday. got busy then went to visit my parents on Saturday for a few days and just got home last night. We had a lot of fun, but it would’ve been more fun if we had the money to go shopping. LOL Here are some pics of Canada Day (& one of my brother & SILs new doggie Sophie, a german shepard/ husky mix) We went to a parade in a nearby village and since my grandparents live really close to the route and I wanted to visit my grandfather anyway, we parked there, went to the parade then visited afterward. My mom got the girls matching t-shirts to wear for the day. We had a BBQ with my family, but everyone forgot to take pics so there’s nothing to show for that. LOL

So because I was away, I did no scrapping at all! I can now show you the layout I did using Misty’s new One in a Million kit though!

Credits here for “Touchable Bubbles”

Now I really gotta get to scrapping! Kristin came out with a new 2scoops kit with Paula Duncan called Canada Eh? that will be perfect for my Canada Day photos and I also have her Berry Patch kit and Misty’s 2scoops with Mandabean called Melon Blossom’s to use. So, I gotta get scrapping! LOL

Okay, now it’s movie time! While DH watched Ocean’s Thirteen last Friday, I watched Be Kind Rewind because I’ve never seen the other 2 Ocean’s movies and I don’t really think they are my thing anyway.

“Be Kind Rewind has a man (Jack Black) whose brain becomes magnetized and unintentionally destroys every tape in his friend’s (Mos Def) video store. In order to satisfy the store’s most loyal renter, an aging woman with signs of dementia (Mia Farrow), the two men set out to remake the lost films.”

This film is neither hilarious nor dramatic, but if you like Jack Black, you’ll probably like this movie. It did have me laughing a bit throughout with the way they remade the movies though, so I give it:

For SSD’s From Our Blog to Yours, they wanted us to take a little “Fireworks Test” and here’s what mine said! I think it hit it right on the head! :)

What Your These Fireworks Say About You

You are jubilant and easily excited. While you aren’t very intense or passionate, your happiness is abundant.

You can always find cause to celebrate, laugh, or even just smile to yourself. You find that life is full of things to be happy about!

The Fireworks Test

That’s it for me today! Hopefully I’ll be back with more than one layout the next time I blog! :)

{double ugh}

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

My site was telling me I needed to upgrade a few things so today I upgraded my gallery. Shoulda backed up before doing so because now there is no theme on it at all! My whole pretty looseleaf background is gone. :( Then I upgraded my family blog and it went okay…nothing missing or wonky, so I upgraded my scrapping blog (this one). Whoops! Shoulda backed up the stylesheet because it went back to a very plain blog with no customizing at all! Grr…So I took a few hours and got it mainly back to the way it was, but there’s a few things that need fixing. Now it’s saying my store needs to be upgraded. No way no how am I doing that! LOL

I can finally show you the 2 layouts I made weeks ago! One was for a kit Misty put out Saturday called Lullaby and one is for the Treat of the Month (Holly Griego) at SSD that started yesterday!

Now that most shows are over we have caught up on all the shows we recorded but never watched and we got to watch a movie on Friday night. We watched “I Know Who Killed Me” with Lindsay Lohan. It was really good! Suspense thriller type of movie that kept me thinking through the whole movie! I give it:

Next Friday they are premiering “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry“, so I guess we’ll be watching that! :)

Kristin put out the cutest camping kit Saturday called Gone Campin’! I have some camping pics that I’ve been wanting to scrap but haven’t gotten the right kit up until now, so now I can scrap them! Woot!

I have a new Cheaters Challenge out in my Playroom, so go grab them!

Also, Misty put up those desktops on her blog that I was telling you about! Go to her blog to pick them up!

That’s it for me I think! I’ll be back in a few days with some more layouts! :)

{Not again…}

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Sickness is in our house again, this time with Kaylee. She has a watery eye that started yesterday and it produces gook, then late this morning she got a fever :( I hope she gets better soon because tomorrow is Kristen’s 6th birthday party (her birthday is on the 23rd, but we’re going to my parents that weekend) then the next day we’re having a BBQ at my BILs for DH’s side of the family to celebrate her birthday.

For the SSD “From Our Blog to Yours”, we had to do a color quiz and here are my results:

ColorQuiz.com Jennifer took the free ColorQuiz.com personality test!“Seeks success. Wants to overcome obstacles and opp…”

Click here to read the rest of the results.

Here is a layout I got done yesterday using a 2scoops kit by Kristin Cronin-Barrow and Eva Kipler called Man of the House that will be out tomorrow at SSD.

So because I’m sitting here typing one-handed (Kaylee is sooky so she’s sitting with me), I’m going to cut this short. Ta ta!

{Layouts, hotties and a sick girlie}

Friday, May 9th, 2008

I was going to wait until Sunday to post so I could put up a new Cheaters Challenge and mention that my gallery is going to be picked for something special that day, but I have so many layouts to show I just had to do it now. Plus there is a new FOBTY up on the SSD blog so I have to do that too. :)

On the homefront, my little girlie is sick. :( She was fine up until after school yesterday then developed a fever. If she lays on the couch for more than a half an hour, you know something is wrong. LOL She had a fever all night and even got sick once (freaked out and screamed for me when that happened, which woke up her little sister and scared her then she started crying :() She hasn’t gotten out of bed yet today and it’s past 11am right now. I hope this isn’t the flu and is just a 1-2 day thing.

Okay, onto the FOBTY….they want to see who our childhood crushes were. Here were mine!

childhoodcrushes.png

And now for my layouts! Brace yourself…I’ve been doing the challenges over at SSD so there’s a quite a few! :)

Whew! All those made since the last post 5 days ago! I’m redoing the layouts I made in 8.5×11 back when I first started scrapping, so that’s why there’s a bunch of old photos being scrapped.

I’ll be back on Sunday (Mother’s Day) with a new Cheaters Challenge, a little toot and hopefully NOT a rant about my hubby not getting me anything from the girls for Mother’s Day. LOL

{Post NSD}

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

I’ll start off with something simple…for the “From My Blog to Yours” at SSD:

What Your Latte Says About You
You are very decadent in all aspects of your life. You never scale back, and you always live large.You are a very serious person. You don’t have time for silly antics.You have a good deal of energy, but you pace yourself. You never burn out too fast. You’re addicted to caffeine. There’s no denying it.

You are responsible, mature, and truly an adult. You’re occasionally playful, but you find it hard to be carefree.

You are deep and thoughtful, but you are never withdrawn.

What Does Your Latte Say About You?

Now how was everyone’s NSD? Mine was pretty good! I got 4 pages done and shopped a bit! Spent more than double what I told DH I was going to. Oops! LOL I even used a bunch of the stuff I bought already! You can find some in the layouts below :)

All the layouts above were for challenges from either Oscraps or Sweet Shoppe Designs. I’m going to try to get back into doing challenges at SSD because they are so fun and the more you do, the bigger the discount coupon you get at the end of the month!

Tonight there is a chat at Oscraps so I’m going to try to remember to be there. It starts at 5pm EST and that is right at suppertime for me, so we’ll have to see.

I don’t think I have anything else to chat about….so, have a great Sunday! :)

{Make a Wish}

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

Check this out…Paint the Moon Designs and Holliewood Studios are pairing up to have an eBay auction where the highest bidder gets a 100% off shopping spree at BOTH their stores! Best thing of all is that all the proceeds will go to the Make-a-Wish Foundation! Isn’t that wonderful? Click on the graphic below to go to the auction.

I just have to share a video with you…its of my 5 year old daughter when she was 1 1/2. She received a snowsuit for Christmas and this was the first time she tried it on.

I scrapped again today using the kit some of the designers at Oscraps made for their CTMs for Christmas. It’s definitely not a Christmas kit though. We figured everyone would be getting enough of those. ;)

I also did this one last night. I was organizing a project to burn a DVD of my layouts that has chapters and everything but realized that I had yet to make my final page on our honeymoon. It wouldn’t be great to have 6 pages about it on one DVD and 1 missing, so I did this last night. I’m going to wait until the end of the month to do the DVD though so that I’ll get all the Christmas layouts for this year.

antiquephotolosample.jpg

That’s it for me today! Tomorrow is Kristen’s last day of school before the holidays and it’s supposed to snow. We’ll see if she ends up going. :)

{Snow Day!}

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Yesterday we had a snow storm…it snowed then rained. Turned into a mushy slushy mess, so school is closed today. Doesn’t really look that bad out right now but I guess it’s supposed to drop to -4 this afternoon so all the water will freeze and leave a lot of the roads slippery. So because a lot of the snow melted when the rain came, I didn’t feel a need to take pics. :)

Check this out! Amanda and I came out with a QP album for our Mint Juleps & Rosy Tea collab! If you don’t have it yet, you can buy the collab and get the QP album for free. If you already have the collab, you can buy the album for just $5!

arockwell-mjrtalbumsml.jpg

If you want to see some people’s houses and how they decorated for Christmas, you should check out BooMama’s Christmas Tour of Homes. What you do is blog about your decorations showing pictures, then add your addy to her list so people can go through and “visit”! As soon as I finish this post I’m going to head over there and add my addy. Here’s what I’ve done this year! There’s not much I can do with a 5 year old and a 2 year old around. Once they’re older I’ll get larger things to put on the floor and be able to “wrap” my media cabinet like I did one year. (frames by Merkee, snowflakes & ribbon by Lisa Whitney)

christmasdecorationssml.png

Here are a few layouts I’ve done in the past few days! The “Reflection” layout was done with a kit some of the Oscraps designers made for their CTMs and the Cheery-Os. I think the kit turned out great!

Have a great Monday! Only 3 more school days until vacation! Woo hoo!

{Come and chat, get a free kit!}

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Don’t forget about the chat tomorrow night (Saturday) at 6pm EST! We are going to have a blast!

new-designers9-6.jpg

So I scrapped Kristen’s first day of school already. I bought Kay Miller’s School Rules and just had to use it as soon as I could!

So the announcement for the winners of the DNTS came out on Monday, and I made 4th place! How cool is that! I love all the layouts I did, so it didn’t matter what I placed, but it’s fun to know people actually like my layouts. :)

Oh! I forgot to show you the layout I did with the collab I worked on with Amanda Rockwell…

Today was pretty uneventful. After dropping Kristen off at school, Kaylee and I went for a walk on the boardwalk by our house then to the mall because I forgot a few things when I got groceries yesterday. Kaylee was really cranky by 11, so I fed her lunch (which wasn’t much because she wouldn’t eat) then for a nap which didn’t last long. She ended up sleeping on me for a bit in the chair then after she woke up, we went and got Kristen then came home. See? Uneventful. LOL I guess it’ll be like that every day though. Fun fun. :)

Have a great weekend, and I hope to see you at the chat tomorrow night!!
