Yesterday we had a snow storm…it snowed then rained. Turned into a mushy slushy mess, so school is closed today. Doesn’t really look that bad out right now but I guess it’s supposed to drop to -4 this afternoon so all the water will freeze and leave a lot of the roads slippery. So because a lot of the snow melted when the rain came, I didn’t feel a need to take pics.

If you want to see some people’s houses and how they decorated for Christmas, you should check out BooMama’s Christmas Tour of Homes. What you do is blog about your decorations showing pictures, then add your addy to her list so people can go through and “visit”! As soon as I finish this post I’m going to head over there and add my addy. Here’s what I’ve done this year! There’s not much I can do with a 5 year old and a 2 year old around. Once they’re older I’ll get larger things to put on the floor and be able to “wrap” my media cabinet like I did one year. (frames by Merkee, snowflakes & ribbon by Lisa Whitney)

Here are a few layouts I’ve done in the past few days! The “Reflection” layout was done with a kit some of the Oscraps designers made for their CTMs and the Cheery-Os. I think the kit turned out great!

Halloween was fun this year…Kristen was supposed to be a Power Ranger but we borrowed a few outfits from our friend to see which one Kaylee would fit into and Kristen fit into one of them and loved it so much that she begged me to let her wear it. So, Kaylee was Snow White and Kristen was a fairy…Sprilla? Friend of Tinkerbell I think. Anyway, here are a few photos of my little princesses.

Today Kristen is having her first schoolmate playdate Her friend Taylor is here for a few hours. She was SO excited for her to come today! I did take a few pictures so I will be making a layout with them and I already got permission to show her face online.

Tomorrow we are headed off to see my parents for Thanksgiving and will be home on Monday sometime. I’m hoping my brother can take a family photo again this year so we don’t have to make an app’t somewhere. I might just do a photo card of the girls if we don’t get a family one. Most of the family doesn’t care what DH and I are looking like nowadays anyway. LOL

I’m pretty sure there’s a bunch of things I need to post about, but I’m not exactly sure where to start. I guess I’ll start with the usual…a few layouts. This first one is using the collab Funky Train from Scrapbook Graphics. We finally got the little pool out a few weeks ago and only used it twice. LOL

So the girls and I just got back today from visiting my parents for a few days. One last hurrah I guess before Kristen starts school next week. No more weekday visits! We had fun! Went to the park, shopping (of course), got Kaylee’s hair cut for the first time, went to the playground at the elementary school near their house and played with my nephews for an afternoon, as well as visited my grandparents who just moved back into town. It was so weird to not have to drive an hour to visit them. Anyway, here are the before, during and after pics of Kaylee getting her hair cut! Look at the face she was giving during the whole process. LOL

This morning we got her portraits done because she’s going to be 2 on Saturday the 1st (what a busy day that is going to be digi-wise!). They turned out okay, but not spectacular. Since they weren’t done where I live and I don’t want to pay the $20 they charge to send them here, my mom is going to pick them up and I won’t get them until Thanksgiving (early October)!

Onto digi things…all the designers at Mega-ByteMall.com are having a sale this weekend! My store at JLD is going to be 25% off (not including blinkies) from the 1st to the 3rd!

The collab I’ve been working on with Amanda Rockwell is debuting on Saturday as well and it’s only available for the month of September! It’s huge and beautiful! So girly!

Okay, so I haven’t given it a LOT of thought yet, but I am thinking I’m going to be stuck on what to do for the final week of DNTS. I mean, how can I top the animated TV using a pic of an inanimate object talking to itself? LOL Gotta do it soon, but man I am so busy! I have 21 blinkies to make right now and possibly a TON more to do soon too!

Oh! And did I mention my EHD crapped out? Yes, the one that was bought 2 months ago went kaput. Good thing almost everything on it was already backed up. I just don’t have all my digi stuff in one place anymore. I want DH to see if he can go exchange it so hopefully we won’t have wasted $130.

So the Digital’s Next Top Scrapper has started and with a real thinker of a challenge too.  We had to scrap a bad habit of some one we love and also include a direct quote somewhere in the layout. So, here is what I came up with!

Thank you to everyone for the nice comments posted on my last post. I’m not going anywhere, just chillin’ for a while and destressing about the whole designing thing. Don’t fear, there will be a Cheaters Challenge every week, and I do have a collab coming up soon with a certain funky designer. ;)  So be on the lookout for that soon!

Kristen comes home today! It’ll be so weird to have her here…been a long time! 2 weeks and 3 days! I’m sure she’ll have lots to show me as she was spoiled while she was gone!

Well, tonight is data burning night (hopefully). My burner was acting up yesterday so I downloaded a trial of Nero. Hopefully that’ll work so I can get some stuff backed up! TTYL!

So yesterday when I went shopping (spent $260!) I got a new Dora potty for Kaylee. She is always pointing at her diaper after she pees or poops and if she can get her bottoms off, the diaper will definitely follow. So, I’m thinking it is time to potty train. She doesn’t talk too much so it’s hard to communicate. I wouldn’t even try potty training her right now if not for the fact that she does that. As it is right now, she keeps saying “pee” then sitting on the potty, then getting off and repeat. And she takes the potty dish out and takes the whole top off. I guess she thinks it’s a new toy. So I dunno if this will go as well as it did with Kristen, but we’ll try!

I was on FIRE yesterday! Not literally of course, but I scrapped 3 pages! Holy smokes! They are all honeymoon pages of most of the places we went when we spent our week in Prince Edward Island. We are going there again this year as an anniversary present to ourselves too! I can’t WAIT!

Remember when Kristen had that accident a month ago and needed to get “stitches”? Well the glue had never come out of her hair but the hair was growing so now it was just sort of hanging there, about a centimeter away from her scalp. She wouldn’t let me pick at it to try and save the hair so I just cut it out. I hated doing it, but it kept getting caught when I was combing because of it being away from her scalp. So there is a patch with really short hair now, but you can’t see it because of the rest of her hair hanging over it. I am going to get her hair cut before school starts so it’ll be a bit longer by then. Here’s her scar. Looks like it didn’t stay totally closed together while it was healing…

So how was everyone’s July 4th? Mine was just like every other day since it wasn’t a holiday here.  Of course, when we had Canada Day, we didn’t celebrate really. DH did take Kristen to the fireworks later that night, but they had to come home early because Kristen had to use the bathroom. I don’t think they missed that much though.
