{What’s in a dream?}

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Okay, last night I was reading Twilight and decided to get some sleep just after 11…come midnight and I was still awake. Couldn’t stop thinking about the book! Had I known it’d take me that long to get to sleep, I woulda just kept reading! Anyway, I guess I had a weird dream once I got to sleep, maybe about the book, I dunno, but when I woke up, my wedding ring was on my right hand on top of my mother’s ring and my engagement ring was still on my left hand. that means I took off both rings because my wedding band is on first, then put my engagement ring back on and put my wedding band on my right hand. Why I would do this, I do not know. Weird! LOL

I spent hours this weekend fixing some blog posts that I imported from my old Typepad blog. The pictures didn’t import with, but if you clicked on the words, the picture would still pop up. Weird since my blog isn’t there anymore. Anyway, I had to click on the link, save the pic to my hard drive, edit the post and reinsert them. For a years worth of posts. Ugh. Done now though! So now all the blog posts from all 3 of my older blogs are here. Yippee!

For SSD’s From Our Blog to Yours (7/31) Kellie wants us to show a layout that makes us happy. The one below makes me happy because it is my favorite family pic ever, I was at my parents house for Thanksgiving so I was seeing my whole family, I was losing weight and feeling great, and remembering how life was when Kristen was that little makes me wish it was that time again.

Spiderwick Chronicles: “Once upon a time, upon moving into the run-down Spiderwick Estate with their mother, twin brothers Jared and Simon Grace, along with their sister Mallory, find themselves pulled into an alternate world full of faeries and other creatures. Unable to explain the strange disappearances and accidents that seem to be happening on a daily basis, the family blames it all on Jared. When he, Simon and Mallory investigate what’s really going on, they uncover the fantastic truth of the Spiderwick estate and of the creatures that inhabit it.”
This movie was really good! We watched it about 3 times before we had to return it. It was sort of like a Bridge to Terabithia/Chronicles of Narnia type of magical/mystical movie. Lots of great people doing voice overs for it too!

The Invasion: “While returning to Earth, the space-bus explodes and the fragments bring an alien virus that recodes the human DNA. In Washington, the psychiatrist Carol Bennell observes the modification of the behavior of one of her clients first, then in her former husband and finally in the population in general. Together with her friend Dr. Ben Driscoll & the researcher Dr. Stephen Galeano, they discover that the extraterrestrial epidemic affects human beings while sleeping and that her son Ollie, who had chickenpox when he was a baby, is immune to the disease and may save mankind from the outbreak.”

This was a great movie too! I think it was a tad slow to begin with and you sort of knew what was coming in certain spots, but it was still good and exciting to watch. :)

That’s it for me this crappy Natal Day weekend…it was yucky out all 3 days! At least I got to sleep in for 2 of the mornings :) Ta ta!

{She doesn’t need therapy!}

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Speech therapy that is. Kaylee was a late talker and because of that, the pediatrician we were referred to for her growth wanted us to have a speech consultation to see what they say. Well, that was when Kaylee was 18 months old and she’s almost 3 now, so the therapist said Kaylee is doing just great and only needs to work on not cutting her words short (i.e saying “nana” instead of “banana”) So we just have to go back in 6 months to see how she’s doing and that’s it! Kaylee knows way more than I thought she did. She knew the difference between “he” & “she” and if something does not have something (point to the chicken that does NOT have any eggs). I didn’t really think she knew that stuff.

Also, yesterday we lost Kaylee’s soothers (pacifiers) and when nap time came we still didn’t have them so she took her nap sootherless. It went fine and even though DH found her soothers before bedtime, we let on that they were still lost so she went to bed without them again. Now for her nap today she doesn’t have them and hasn’t been crying, but I have had to go up there a few times because she just won’t go to sleep! Keeps playing! I really like my time alone while she’s sleeping, so she can’t stop taking naps! She just can’t! LOL

Thanks to everyone who bought the I So Pretty kit and downloaded the free alpha during the weekend! I appreciate it (& the nice comments) very much! If you missed the alpha, I will be putting it into my stores very soon.

Here’s some layouts I’ve done since I posted on Saturday!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Movie review time! I watched 4 movies since Friday night! Here they are in the order I watched them:

The Eye: “Sydney, a young, blind violinist is given the chance to see for the first time since childhood through a miraculous corneal transplant. As Sydney adjusts to a dizzying new world of colors and shapes, she is haunted by frightening visions of death itself capturing the doomed and dragging them away from the world of the living. Terrorized and on the brink of insanity, Sydney must discover whose eyes she has inherited, and what secret visions they have held

This movie was creepy (but not TOO creepy) and gave me a jump a few times. Great movie and I’d probably see it again!

Resident Evil: Extinction: “Years after the Raccoon City disaster, Alice is on her own; aware that she has become a liability and could endanger those around her, she is struggling to survive and bring down the Umbrella Corporation led by the sinister Albert Wesker and head researcher Dr. Isaacs. Meanwhile, traveling through the Nevada Desert and the ruins of Las Vegas, Carlos Olivera, L.J., and new survivors K-Mart, Claire Redfield, and Nurse Betty must fight to survive extinction against hordes of zombies, killer crows and the most terrifying creatures created as a result of the deadly T-Virus that has killed millions.”

I didn’t see Resident Evil: Apocalypse (the second of the series), so I didn’t understand some of it, but it was a pretty good movie overall. I am going to rent the second one soon but I don’t think I feel the need to see this series over and over again. Still a good movie though :)

Hot Fuzz: “Top London cop, PC Nicholas Angel is good. Too good. And to stop the rest of his team looking bad, he is reassigned to the quiet town of Sandford. He is paired with Danny Butterman, who countlessly questions him on the action lifestyle. Everything seems quiet for Angel, until two actors are found decapitated. It is address to as an accident, but Angel isn’t going to accept that, especially when more and more people turn up dead. Angel and Danny clash with everyone, whilst trying to uncover the truth behind the mystery of the apparent “accidents”.”

I would never have turned the channel to watch this if it hadn’t been for my husband. I must say though, that it was really funny, but sort of serious at the same time. It’s a British film, so you just know it will be funny if it says it’s a comedy. LOL It’s from the makers of “Shaun of the Dead” which we haven’t seen yet but I want to! Funny funny stuff!

Stardust: “The passage from this world to the fantasy kingdom of Stormhold is through a breech in a wall beside an English village. In the 1800s, a boy becomes a man when he ventures through the breech in pursuit of a fallen star, to prove his love for the village beauty. The star is no lump of rock, it’s a maiden, Yvaine. Tristan, the youth, is not the only one looking for her: three witches, led by Lamia, want her heart to make them young; and, the sons of the dead king of Stormhold want her because she holds a ruby that will give one of them title to the throne. Assisting Tristan are his mother, the victim of a spell, and a transvestite pirate of the skies. Will Tristan win his true love

I must admit, I missed the first half hour of this movie, but the rest was great! It’s sort of like Bridge to Terabithia, Spiderwick Chronicles, etc. Really liked it and want to watch it again, this time with my girls! (Although looking at the witches might be a bit scary for younger kids)

Speaking of the Spiderwick Chronicles, I forgot to review it when we watched it last week. I’ll do that next time!

Alrighty, I think that’s it from me! Check y’all later!

{FAIL 3}

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

OMG I laughed my head off when I saw this FAIL…can you just see someone talking to a baker and ordering a cake and saying “Ok, I want a cake with orange and yellow roses on it, and in the middle it says “Best Wishes Suzanne”, underneath that, “We Will Miss You” Can you do that?” Uhh….sure…LOL

We (I) just started trying to potty train Kaylee today and so far it is going good I think. She’s gone on the potty 4 times, but has peed on the floor about 8 times. LOL I’m so proud of her though! Within about an hour of taking off her diaper she peed in the potty! Go Kaylee! Right now she’s sleeping so she’s wearing a pull-up, but as soon as she wakes up it’s coming off. Kristen is going with my ILs for the next few days so it’ll be easier to deal with it I’m sure. Kristen keeps wanting to sit in front of Kaylee while she’s on the potty and bug her until she doesn’t want to do it anymore stare at her.

I did get to scrap some after the last post…check them out…all four of them! The first 3 layouts were done with pics I took while we were visiting my parents last week.

Credits here for “Last Day of Primary”

I don’t know if I ever posted about it, but for those of you who own a Wii Fit and want/need some support, I created a forum just for you! Click the blinkie below to go and register! We’re at almost 60 members now!

Hmm…movie review…have I watched a movie lately? I probably did since my parents have digital cable and a movie channel that is on-demand so you start any movie (out of a list) at any time! I can’t remember what movie(s) I saw while I was there though! I must say, usually if I watch a movie all the way through, it’s worth a 2 thumbs up, so you’ll be seeing a lot of those, so this one wasn’t too bad, but it definitely was a B movie…Slither.

“In this blend of the B movie classic The Blob (1958) and some Romero’s zombies film, a meteorite collides in a small town. Grant finds it, and is infected by a parasite worm, which installs in his brain and causes him a creepy transformation into a monster. Starla, his wife, and Bill, a policeman, will try to stop him and the plague of worms generated by the creature.”

It was somewhat cheesy, but all in all a good movie so guess what I give it? LOL

New Cheaters Challenge coming soon! Oh, and don’t forget…my 40% off sale ends tomorrow!!

Happy 4th of July!!
I am Canadian, but because I was away for the Canada Day celebrations, I am having my sale now! From July 4th-9th get 40% off everything in both my stores (except blinkies & professional use products)

Click {here} to go to JLD or {here} to go to Oscraps!

Sorry I didn’t blog on Friday. got busy then went to visit my parents on Saturday for a few days and just got home last night. We had a lot of fun, but it would’ve been more fun if we had the money to go shopping. LOL Here are some pics of Canada Day (& one of my brother & SILs new doggie Sophie, a german shepard/ husky mix) We went to a parade in a nearby village and since my grandparents live really close to the route and I wanted to visit my grandfather anyway, we parked there, went to the parade then visited afterward. My mom got the girls matching t-shirts to wear for the day. We had a BBQ with my family, but everyone forgot to take pics so there’s nothing to show for that. LOL

So because I was away, I did no scrapping at all! I can now show you the layout I did using Misty’s new One in a Million kit though!

Credits here for “Touchable Bubbles”

Now I really gotta get to scrapping! Kristin came out with a new 2scoops kit with Paula Duncan called Canada Eh? that will be perfect for my Canada Day photos and I also have her Berry Patch kit and Misty’s 2scoops with Mandabean called Melon Blossom’s to use. So, I gotta get scrapping! LOL

Okay, now it’s movie time! While DH watched Ocean’s Thirteen last Friday, I watched Be Kind Rewind because I’ve never seen the other 2 Ocean’s movies and I don’t really think they are my thing anyway.

“Be Kind Rewind has a man (Jack Black) whose brain becomes magnetized and unintentionally destroys every tape in his friend’s (Mos Def) video store. In order to satisfy the store’s most loyal renter, an aging woman with signs of dementia (Mia Farrow), the two men set out to remake the lost films.”

This film is neither hilarious nor dramatic, but if you like Jack Black, you’ll probably like this movie. It did have me laughing a bit throughout with the way they remade the movies though, so I give it:

For SSD’s From Our Blog to Yours, they wanted us to take a little “Fireworks Test” and here’s what mine said! I think it hit it right on the head! :)

What Your These Fireworks Say About You

You are jubilant and easily excited. While you aren’t very intense or passionate, your happiness is abundant.

You can always find cause to celebrate, laugh, or even just smile to yourself. You find that life is full of things to be happy about!

The Fireworks Test

That’s it for me today! Hopefully I’ll be back with more than one layout the next time I blog! :)

{Park Fun}

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

I had a lot of fun going to the Wildlife Park on Friday with Kristen’s class! I had to chaperone 3 other girls besides Kristen and they were really well behaved. We named ourselves the Otters, because they are cute and love to swim, just like my girls. :) Whenever it was time to go to the next animal, I’d yell “Okay Otters!” then they’d all come to me :)

For the From Our Blog To Yours at SSD for June 19th

What Your Fridge Says About You

You aren’t greedy, but you don’t really deprive yourself either. You strike a good balance with the stuff you buy.

You are a very thrifty person. You don’t like to waste money… or food.

You don’t tend to be a very adventurous person, but you do surprise everyone now and then. You have a bit of a wild side.

You try to be responsible, but you don’t always succeed. Your heart is in the right place though.

You are likely single - and a workaholic.

I only did one layout since the last post but I used a kit of Misty’s that isn’t out until next Saturday so I can’t show it to you. :( I can, however, show you the front and back covers of the Shutterfly book I ordered the other day. It’s of all (minus one that I forgot) the layouts I’ve done with both girls in it so far.
I made it using Misty Cato’s Baby Brights kit she re-released today. It didn’t really look lined up when I ordered it, but it was totally lined up in PS, so hopefully it was just a glitch.

Man, I hate it when DH is in a bad mood (which is often) because then everything bugs him, even the stuff that shouldn’t. He was getting annoyed at Kaylee because she was trying to give her sleeping sister (who isn’t feeling well) a stuffed animal. I asked him why it was annoying him and he said I didn’t understand then went downstairs, as usual. I wish he could handle the kids better because he obviously can’t. I’d say at least 90% off his “tantrums” are kid-related. The big baby can spend the rest of the night down there for all I care. :P

Last night we watched Rob Zombie’s remake of Halloween. It was pretty good, if you like a lot of blood and gore, but a few things were changed from the original, like certain people dying that didn’t before, and a bit of nudity. Anyway, I still give it:

Next week…I’m not sure as they are premiering Ocean’s Thirteen and I haven’t seen the other ones nor am I that interested to. Have a great weekend!

{Ummm}

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Gosh…I had a bunch of stuff I wanted to blog about today but now I forget! Maybe I’ll remember as I type. :)

Firstly, I want to congratulate lawyerlyn, the winner of my Old Flame contest! Here’s a screenshot, just to show the number that was picked. Lyn was the 6th person to send me her link!

Umm…oh! I have a little toot…I got picked to be a guest on Mandabean’s CT! I didn’t know if I could handle 3 full time CTs so I just asked to be on as a guest instead of full time. We’ll see how it goes…maybe I’ll get asked to stay permanently after my guest run is up!

Here are a few layouts I’ve done since the last post!

Credits here for “Queen of the Road”

Credits here for “Two Little Pumpkins”

Credits here for “Sunset”

Credits here for “Tick Tock”

Movie review! I watched Superbad last week. Sort of reminded me of Dazed and Confused but in the present instead. There definitely were some funny parts. Great movie if you love teenage guys talking about sex & drinking all the time. LOL So, I give it a:

Next week: the Rob Zombie remake of Halloween

I’ll be back on Friday with pics of my trip to the Wildlife Park with Kristen’s class!

{Who wants my whole store?}

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

So first I gotta tell you about this challenge/contest I’m going to be doing for the next few days. I created this kit as a freebie today and for those who download it, make a layout with it (at least 90% kit) then link me up in the comments here on my blog, you will be entered in a draw to win my whole store! You have until Friday night (June 13th) to download the kit, then link me up to your layout by next Tuesday night, June 17th. Click the preview to download it! If you miss downloading it for free by Friday night, it will be going into my stores soon after that, so don’t fret. :)

I put a few commercial use overlays packs into my stores since yesterday! Click here to get them at Oscraps and here for JLD!

I did 2 layouts over the past few days, but one of them is with a kit that hasn’t been released yet, so I can only show you one. It’s for the Shutterbug Shakedown challenge #15 at SSD.

Credits here for “1st Gift”

We haven’t had much warm weather yet here in Nova Scotia. I’ve only not worn my jacket twice I think. But yesterday it was REALLY hot…like 33 celcius in the sun and was pretty warm all night too. Ceiling fans did nothing! Then today we wake up and it was pretty cold! About 8-10 degrees all morning. LOL Freaky weird weather…

Movie reviews! I watched some movies last weekend since DH wasn’t home. Like I mentioned last week, they were premiering I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry on the Movie Network on Friday. I can’t say it was an awesome movie and I really thought it was going to be since Adam Sandler is in it, but it wasn’t terrible either. It was kinda cute funny, not laugh your head off funny, but I still give it 2 thumbs up! Worth watching! I also watched The Machinist. I am a fan of Christian Bale and when I hear he dropped 63lbs to play Trevor Reznik in The Machinist (El Maquinista) I just had to watch it. It is a very different movie…I thought it was going to be a horror type, but it was more of a drama. It was pretty good though. if you want to see it because you like eye candy, this is not the one for you. LOL He does NOT look good in this movie! I still give it a:

Alrighty! I’m off to watch the rest of Hell’s Kitchen then I’m off to bed! Au revoir! :)

{double ugh}

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

My site was telling me I needed to upgrade a few things so today I upgraded my gallery. Shoulda backed up before doing so because now there is no theme on it at all! My whole pretty looseleaf background is gone. :( Then I upgraded my family blog and it went okay…nothing missing or wonky, so I upgraded my scrapping blog (this one). Whoops! Shoulda backed up the stylesheet because it went back to a very plain blog with no customizing at all! Grr…So I took a few hours and got it mainly back to the way it was, but there’s a few things that need fixing. Now it’s saying my store needs to be upgraded. No way no how am I doing that! LOL

I can finally show you the 2 layouts I made weeks ago! One was for a kit Misty put out Saturday called Lullaby and one is for the Treat of the Month (Holly Griego) at SSD that started yesterday!

Credits here for “Peek a Boo!”

Credits here for “You Make My Heart Sing”

Now that most shows are over we have caught up on all the shows we recorded but never watched and we got to watch a movie on Friday night. We watched “I Know Who Killed Me” with Lindsay Lohan. It was really good! Suspense thriller type of movie that kept me thinking through the whole movie! I give it:

Next Friday they are premiering “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry“, so I guess we’ll be watching that! :)

Kristin put out the cutest camping kit Saturday called Gone Campin’! I have some camping pics that I’ve been wanting to scrap but haven’t gotten the right kit up until now, so now I can scrap them! Woot!

I have a new Cheaters Challenge out in my Playroom, so go grab them!

Also, Misty put up those desktops on her blog that I was telling you about! Go to her blog to pick them up!

That’s it for me I think! I’ll be back in a few days with some more layouts! :)
