{Thanksgiving & FAIL 6}

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

We had a great time at my parents house this weekend! It really helped that it was pretty nice weather. On Sunday DH & I took Kaylee to Victoria Park (a really huge beautiful park with swimming pools, large playground, waterfalls and walking trails). Kristen didn’t want to go because my oldest nephew was at my parents and she didn’t want to go without him. LOL Here are just a few of the pics we took while we were there (click to get a larger version)

We had a wonderful turkey dinner with 2 kinds of stuffing and 2 kinds of pie (lemon meringue & butterscotch - the pumpkin pie was eaten the night before LOL). The girls even ate a good share of the food which was awesome! They are normally picky and don’t eat a lot. That night DH and I went to visit my brother and SIL and just hung out for a few hours. I can’t wait to do it more often!

Here are a few layouts I did since the last post! The first one is a QP I made for Lauren from her Scary Moon Cat kit that you can buy in her store at Sweet Shoppe Designs!

I found this FAIL the other day and literally laughed out loud! I hope my delivery person never does this with my stuff!

I don’t think I have anything else to blog about, so have a great day! I’ll see if I can try to muster up a new Cheaters Challenge for next time :)

{Back in School}

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

Yep, Kristen is in 1st grade now! I don’t know how parents of more than one child do it on the first day of school…everything is confusing because you don’t know where to go or who the teacher is, etc. I can’t imagine having to get 2 or more kids to the right spots at the right time. I didn’t bring the camera to school, but here are a few pics of her I took in the morning.

This weekend there is an air show at the International Airport and yesterday they were doing a practice show at the military base that is just a few minutes away, so all the planes went over our house. :) The airshow used to actually be at this base but moved to the airport a few years ago which was such a bummer. We loved having the planes going over our house and having helicopters flying over daily just isn’t the same. So, Kaylee and I went out on the deck and watched the planes and I took some pics. I don’t have a high zoom lens so they aren’t as close up as I would’ve liked to get.

This month I am a guest on MandaBean’s CT and yesterday I did my first layout for her using her 2 Scoops with Robin called Gitchy Gitchy. I know it’s not a new kit, but the colors fit the first day of school pics I wanted to scrap…well, the brown did…the red I had to recolor to pink. :) Here is the layout I made, along with the layout using Misty’s new Richer kit that I’ve been sitting on for a few weeks, a pictrure of my husband at around 6 years old!

For SSD’s From Our Blog to Yours for 9/4, Libby asked us to do a Crayola Color Quiz! Here are my results:

Oh! Here’s a really funny FAIL for ya! :)

Alrighty, that’s it for me this weekend! We’re getting some remnants of Hurricane Hannah but it’s not supposed to be bad at all, just some rain..in this half of the province anyway.

I didn’t know a man could get pregnant! :)

I scrapped my heart out yesterday! I did 4 pages, but I can only show you 3 because 1 was made with a kit of Misty’s that won’t be out until the 16th. She is so organized and ahead of schedule all the time!

I have a new Cheaters Challenge up in my Playroom! It’s based on the last layout shown above. :) Love that freebie of Kari’s! I’ll be watching what else she puts out at FPD with their Teacher’s Pet contest.

That’s it for me! I’ll be back on Saturday with more layouts I’m sure! :)

I can just see the convo before this happened…”Sweetie, I need to get groceries but our car is still at the mechanics.” —-”Well, we do have my motorcycle…” —- “Yeah, but how will we get them all home?”

For those who didn’t grab the kit with free luggage tag album while it was available, you can now get the album in the store separately!

Layout sharing time! :) With that last layout I think I made the 40% off level at SSD! Woot!

For SSD’s From Our Blog 2 Yours for July 26th:

You Are Reggae Music

You’re laid back, friendly, and even a bit of a bum at times.

For you, life is too short to spend your time angry at the world.

But while you don’t take life too seriously, you’re deeper than people realize.

You’re very reflective, and a few key topics (like social justice and love) are very important to you.

What Kind of Music Are You?

Head over to Misty’s blog for a free desktop I made with her new collab called Sunkissed!

OMG I laughed my head off when I saw this FAIL…can you just see someone talking to a baker and ordering a cake and saying “Ok, I want a cake with orange and yellow roses on it, and in the middle it says “Best Wishes Suzanne”, underneath that, “We Will Miss You” Can you do that?” Uhh….sure…LOL

We (I) just started trying to potty train Kaylee today and so far it is going good I think. She’s gone on the potty 4 times, but has peed on the floor about 8 times. LOL I’m so proud of her though! Within about an hour of taking off her diaper she peed in the potty! Go Kaylee! Right now she’s sleeping so she’s wearing a pull-up, but as soon as she wakes up it’s coming off. Kristen is going with my ILs for the next few days so it’ll be easier to deal with it I’m sure. Kristen keeps wanting to sit in front of Kaylee while she’s on the potty and bug her until she doesn’t want to do it anymore stare at her.

I did get to scrap some after the last post…check them out…all four of them! The first 3 layouts were done with pics I took while we were visiting my parents last week.

I don’t know if I ever posted about it, but for those of you who own a Wii Fit and want/need some support, I created a forum just for you! Click the blinkie below to go and register! We’re at almost 60 members now!

Hmm…movie review…have I watched a movie lately? I probably did since my parents have digital cable and a movie channel that is on-demand so you start any movie (out of a list) at any time! I can’t remember what movie(s) I saw while I was there though! I must say, usually if I watch a movie all the way through, it’s worth a 2 thumbs up, so you’ll be seeing a lot of those, so this one wasn’t too bad, but it definitely was a B movie…Slither.

“In this blend of the B movie classic The Blob (1958) and some Romero’s zombies film, a meteorite collides in a small town. Grant finds it, and is infected by a parasite worm, which installs in his brain and causes him a creepy transformation into a monster. Starla, his wife, and Bill, a policeman, will try to stop him and the plague of worms generated by the creature.”

It was somewhat cheesy, but all in all a good movie so guess what I give it? LOL

New Cheaters Challenge coming soon! Oh, and don’t forget…my 40% off sale ends tomorrow!!

Oh all the fun times people coulda had with all that Grolsch beer… LOL

Just a reminder that you only have until tonight to pick up the freebie posted below and that you’ll need to link me up to your layout before the 17th in order to be eligible for a chance to win my whole store!

Here is a layout I did with the kit, as well as a layout using Misty’s Ouchie kit that will be available in the SSD store tomorrow!

Tomorrow Kristen has a birthday party to go to at a local bowling alley, so I think DH, Kaylee and I will go to WalMart to pick up a few things and have lunch there until we have to pick her up. I think it’d be a waste of time to go home then drive back to pick her up. We’d only be home for about an hour!

For the “From Our Blog to Yours” at SSD, they asked us to talk about our favorite summer activities. Well, we aren’t the type of family that does a lot of stuff during the summer, and now that gas is so expensive, it’ll be even more so. I think we’ll be going to the zoo once and a place called The Discovery Centre, but other than that, our times away from home will just be to visit my parents an hour away. There’s a really nice park there that has a water feature for the kids and a huge playground as well as a walking trail with a waterfall (I’ve shown pics of it on this blog before). I think it’ll be an okay summer :)

I think that’s it for me! Tonight they are premiering Superbad on the Movie Network so I’ll review it on Monday! Have a great weekend!

{FAIL!}

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

My friend Eve showed me this site yesterday and I spent hours looking at the pics and laughing hysterically over others misfortunes and stupidity. Now, once a week I will have a FAIL post to showcase my favorites. Let’s start with this one today…I laughed my a$$ off at this one…poor guy!

For the From Our Blog to Yours at SSD… I always knew I was a huge nerd, now this proves it! LOL

I am nerdier than 92% of all people. Are you a nerd? Click here to find out!

As promised, I have some layouts to show you! :) All 4 are done for challenges at SSD!

DH & Kristen are heading off to the races tomorrow afternoon for the weekend. They are meeting my ILs there, who are going up earlier in the day to get a spot for their trailer. He could’ve dropped Kaylee and I off at my parents since it’s on the way, but I decided to stay home this weekend so it’s just Kaylee and I, then after school ends I’ll take both girls up for 4 days or so and hang out with my parents. I hope Kaylee behaves this weekend! And it’d be nice if she decided to sleep in past 6am too. LOL I’m sure I’ll be back in a few days with some more layouts…maybe 3 or 4 with the way I’m scrapping lately. LOL

Big thanks go out to Eve’s husband Anton for fixing my blog!! Thanks A!
