Yep, I went and got my hair cut today. I hadn’t gotten it cut since January and there were no layers in it so it was weighing me down. When I get a thought in my head I just have to get it done so when I decided to get my hair cut today I thought “what am I supposed to do with the girls? I have no babysitter…” So, we went to the Dollar Store first and got a treat and a toy for each of them then to the book store to buy them each a book to look at. They sat in the waiting room and were pretty well behaved for the entire time I was in there! I was really surprised. LOL No pics though…sorry!

I have a big toot to share! I was one of the new girls selected to be on Lauren Griers CT! Yay! I have known Lauren since we were both selling at Elemental Scraps back in March of 2006 so I’m glad to be able to keep in touch with her and her designs! OMGoodness I just had a scare…I was getting Kaylee dried off from being in the wading pool so she was n.a.k.e.d and Kristen wanted me to take her training wheels off of her bike, so I went outside and watched her go on her friends bike so I would know for sure that she could do it, and when I went to go inside to get the wrench to take them off…I couldn’t open the door. Kaylee had closed it and locked the deadbolt. Crap! So, I realized I could get in the patio door because it was open, but there are no stairs to our deck and it is one story up (our shed is underneath it). I went to my neighbor that is back behind us and asked him if he had a ladder. He said he could just climb up and go through the house to open the door. Once he got up to the deck I went around front and waited for him to open the door. It was taking a while (all the while Kaylee inside crying and freaking out, n.a.k.e.d when this strange man comes onto the deck) so I went and opened the door…went upstairs and I heard him saying to Kaylee that he was going to go let me in…Kaylee had unlocked the door sometime between me leaving the front door to get my neighbor and him climbing onto the deck. Ugh! I told him I was sorry and thanks anyway! LOL I hope Kaylee learned her lesson…no closing doors while Mommy is outside! Whew! What a day!

Sorry I didn’t blog on Friday. got busy then went to visit my parents on Saturday for a few days and just got home last night. We had a lot of fun, but it would’ve been more fun if we had the money to go shopping. LOL Here are some pics of Canada Day (& one of my brother & SILs new doggie Sophie, a german shepard/ husky mix) We went to a parade in a nearby village and since my grandparents live really close to the route and I wanted to visit my grandfather anyway, we parked there, went to the parade then visited afterward. My mom got the girls matching t-shirts to wear for the day. We had a BBQ with my family, but everyone forgot to take pics so there’s nothing to show for that. LOL

So because I was away, I did no scrapping at all! I can now show you the layout I did using Misty’s new One in a Million kit though!

Now I really gotta get to scrapping! Kristin came out with a new 2scoops kit with Paula Duncan called Canada Eh? that will be perfect for my Canada Day photos and I also have her Berry Patch kit and Misty’s 2scoops with Mandabean called Melon Blossom’s to use. So, I gotta get scrapping! LOL

Okay, now it’s movie time! While DH watched Ocean’s Thirteen last Friday, I watched Be Kind Rewind because I’ve never seen the other 2 Ocean’s movies and I don’t really think they are my thing anyway.

“Be Kind Rewind has a man (Jack Black) whose brain becomes magnetized and unintentionally destroys every tape in his friend’s (Mos Def) video store. In order to satisfy the store’s most loyal renter, an aging woman with signs of dementia (Mia Farrow), the two men set out to remake the lost films.”

This film is neither hilarious nor dramatic, but if you like Jack Black, you’ll probably like this movie. It did have me laughing a bit throughout with the way they remade the movies though, so I give it:

I think Spring is finally here! It’s been pretty mild lately (although the mornings are a tad cold). But when the sun is out in the afternoon, it’s so nice, I do believe it’s here! Yay!!

Kristen has a dentist app’t this afternoon…she’s getting her first filling She also has an app’t to get another one next week. Guess the dentist didn’t want to do both in one day since they are in 2 different areas. I hope she takes it well…I’m sure she will since she’s such a trooper.

I’m thinking it’s time to add a few good scrappers to my CT girls. I haven’t really gotten a CT together since I came back from a hiatus in February, so, all I want you to do is wear my “fan” blinkie. My CT girls (who are really my friends) and I will be on the lookout. I will be choosing a few girls for my CT over the next week or two, but I will also be giving out some GCs and maybe my whole Toybox to a few girls. This would be a perfect spot for someone who wants a bit more, but nothing much, as I am a slow designer and only put out products once every two weeks to a month. Hope to see you wearing my blinkage!

I’ve done a few more layouts since the last post. I broke my promise that I wouldn’t buy any more digi stuff until I paid off my camera (still owe $210) because I was working on this layout (When God Paints) and knew exactly what I needed for it, but didn’t have it. They were only $2, so DH wasn’t mad at all. The reason there is a farm theme to my grandfather’s birthday layout is because he has lived on a farm his whole life.

So I’ve been thinking…is there a good market out there for desktops? Not calendar ones, but just generic ones that you can use for as long as you want? If so, what size do you need? I was thinking I might start making desktops to sell in my store using my designs in the sizes of 1024×768 & 1280×800. Let me know what you think!

So this week has been a big “toys for Jennifer” week. LOL First, Sunday we went to Leon’s and I bought a dishwasher that will be delivered on the 20th. Then Wednesday I went to WalMart and got myself a Canon Rebel XT (I have promised not to buy any digi stuff until I “pay it off” with my designing money), then the next day my new Dell Inspiron 1520 came! Today, finally after 3 weeks, the TV cabinet my FIL built (thank you Kev!) has been finished and brought into our house and we got our new plasma TV hooked up! Yay! The only thing left to buy out of the settlement money now is a new front door and small window for our bathroom, and maybe a new barbecue, but those aren’t very much.

The ADSR challenge I had to do this week (Eve did the one at SSD) was to interview an inanimate object. So of course I had to interview my new baby. LOL

On a scrapping note, I have a layout that is featured in this months Bella Scraps Magazine! I did it about 3 weeks ago for their Color Challenge I knew was coming up this month. It’s not posted anywhere yet, so I can’t point you to the credits, but it’s Amber Clegg’s kit called Lil Dainty and the frames are by Nancy Comelab. I also used the Scalloped Tomatoes 2 mats above that are new to the Toybox.

A certain someone has been nagging me to blog, so here I am. I do have some stuff to show (it has been a month after all) so it won’t be just me babbling. LOL

Firstly, I have made a new Loonie Bin section in my store where you can get items for just a buck! Everything else in my store is still 50% off as well!

My daughter had her first school Christmas concert on Wednesday. She was so cute singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer with her little paper antlers on. Here are some photos.

I got her class singing their song and the whole school singing the finale on DVD but I couldn’t see Kristen for the finale because it was too crowded. This was the first time we really used our camcorder since we got it back in March. It really is a cool little thing.

Sunday Kristen is having a little Christmas party with 6 of her classmates. They are going to make a foam reindeer magnet and have some cookies and milk. It should be a fun time! I will definitely take pictures this time because I bought a 15 minute battery charger so even if my batteries go dead, it’ll only take 15 minutes to get them going again!

For the last layout I used KristinCB’s “Baby on Board” kit and she liked it so much, she wanted me to make a template out of it. I needed to make one for my Cheaters Challenge anyway, so I made it right then!

Halloween was fun this year…Kristen was supposed to be a Power Ranger but we borrowed a few outfits from our friend to see which one Kaylee would fit into and Kristen fit into one of them and loved it so much that she begged me to let her wear it. So, Kaylee was Snow White and Kristen was a fairy…Sprilla? Friend of Tinkerbell I think. Anyway, here are a few photos of my little princesses.

Today Kristen is having her first schoolmate playdate Her friend Taylor is here for a few hours. She was SO excited for her to come today! I did take a few pictures so I will be making a layout with them and I already got permission to show her face online.

Tomorrow we are headed off to see my parents for Thanksgiving and will be home on Monday sometime. I’m hoping my brother can take a family photo again this year so we don’t have to make an app’t somewhere. I might just do a photo card of the girls if we don’t get a family one. Most of the family doesn’t care what DH and I are looking like nowadays anyway. LOL

So I finally went and did a Digi-Dare! They had their 1 year anniversary last week and were giving out a beautiful kit for playing along, so I just had to do it! I’ll be doing more in the future too…it was fun! The dare was to find an artist, style, technique, or topic that you have wanted to try but haven’t yet and try to scrap like that and also use a designer you’ve never tried before. I did a layout using Susan Bartolini’s DiscTalkRadio kit from last month called South End and made a layout with everything in the center.

So Kristen got into a bit of trouble on Friday..she got 2 sad faces in her scrapbook (yes, the teacher actually called it a scrapbook LOL) because she didn’t listen twice…was too busy chatting. She can’t stop talking at home and doesn’t listen to us, so I knew this would happen and be something she’ll have to work on. Open house is on the 27th so we’ll see how that goes.

I only got about 4 hours sleep last night…it was just one of those nights where my brain wouldn’t shut off and DH’s snoring got the best of me. I finally got to sleep around 12:30 then Kaylee woke up crying at 1:15 then took me a bit to go back to sleep after that, then the girls decide to wake up at 5:30. And I thought them waking up at 6:30 during the week was bad…I really hope Kaylee doesn’t turn out like her sister and start waking up at 5:30 in the morning every day. At least now, Kristen can go downstairs by herself and let us sleep. With Kaylee, one of us would have to get up, and I KNOW it’d be me!

We watched Bridge to Terabithia yesterday. It was really good! Right now we have 4 movies from Rogers Video Direct (like Netflix) so I have to return some soon! At least now they send me movies before they receive the ones I sent them so I end up getting more movies for my money in a month. We just have to watch The Hills Have Eyes 2 and then all 4 can be sent back (The Prestige (was really good!) and Hello Kitty: Princess Dreams are the other 2).
