{New do, toot, layouts, freak out & a freebie!}
Yep, I went and got my hair cut today. I hadn’t gotten it cut since January and there were no layers in it so it was weighing me down. When I get a thought in my head I just have to get it done so when I decided to get my hair cut today I thought “what am I supposed to do with the girls? I have no babysitter…” So, we went to the Dollar Store first and got a treat and a toy for each of them then to the book store to buy them each a book to look at. They sat in the waiting room and were pretty well behaved for the entire time I was in there! I was really surprised. LOL No pics though…sorry!
I have a big toot to share! I was one of the new girls selected to be on Lauren Griers CT! Yay! I have known Lauren since we were both selling at Elemental Scraps back in March of 2006 so I’m glad to be able to keep in touch with her and her designs! Click the blinkie on the side to go to her store at Sweet Shoppe Designs!
Here are the latest layouts!
OMGoodness I just had a scare…I was getting Kaylee dried off from being in the wading pool so she was n.a.k.e.d and Kristen wanted me to take her training wheels off of her bike, so I went outside and watched her go on her friends bike so I would know for sure that she could do it, and when I went to go inside to get the wrench to take them off…I couldn’t open the door. Kaylee had closed it and locked the deadbolt. Crap! So, I realized I could get in the patio door because it was open, but there are no stairs to our deck and it is one story up (our shed is underneath it). I went to my neighbor that is back behind us and asked him if he had a ladder. He said he could just climb up and go through the house to open the door. Once he got up to the deck I went around front and waited for him to open the door. It was taking a while (all the while Kaylee inside crying and freaking out, n.a.k.e.d when this strange man comes onto the deck) so I went and opened the door…went upstairs and I heard him saying to Kaylee that he was going to go let me in…Kaylee had unlocked the door sometime between me leaving the front door to get my neighbor and him climbing onto the deck. Ugh! I told him I was sorry and thanks anyway! LOL I hope Kaylee learned her lesson…no closing doors while Mommy is outside! Whew! What a day!
Here is a set of desktops using my collab with Misty called I So Pretty!
That’s it for me! I’m off to make chicken nuggets from scratch…I hope. LOL

I LOVE that 32 truths LO Jen! FABULOUS job! One thing though…I thought I was a RL friend? Hmmmm….lol We have met after all!
Glad everything turned out ok with Kaylee…How scary for both of you!!!
I got a hair cut yesterday, too! So much lighter and more comfortable. How clever to get them something fun to do while you took care of your hair.
How traumatic for both of you. This is one of those stories that is funny in the retelling over the years, but I’m sure Kaylee would not think it was funny now. Door locks are just too fascinating. Your neighbor sounds really nice. I agree with Melanie, that commented before, about being glad everything turned out okay.
Fantastic layouts! I love the rainbow water stream and the title with the watery shadow. The vertical design on the 2nd one is cool and the third on is so fun to read!
Your layouts are fantastic!! Very artistic and full of fun!
Even though not funny at the time, it gives you a good laugh now I hope.
Thanks for the freebie!
Those layouts are awesome. The freebie is really cute too

Thank you!
Argh that is scary to say the least!!!!! I can just imagine her little face and yours —bet that is the last time she does that tho! Am sure your neighbor will have that story for awhile lol.
Thanks for the wonderful gorgeous desktop! I rarely use one but this one just screamed at me to use it so I am
You can see a shot of it on my blog

Thank you so much for the beautiful desktop! I love Misty’s stuff and your skills only make it better.
Those layouts are awesome but your story is scary and bring me down memory lane. I had the same thing happen when mine was about 18 months old. I ran out our front door to throw the garbage in the can outside and when I came back, I saw the front door closed … and knew it was locked! I still tried anyway and ran around the house like an idiot checking around the whole house. I ran across the street to the neighbors that I barely knew and although their door was open, I couldn’t get them to answer.
I threw manners out the door and went inside all the time calling out for someone… I didn’t even know their names! I was by this time kinda hysterical imagining a ton of scary scenarios. I got on the phone and called my husband to get him to come back with the key but I couldn’t get him. The neighbor finally came in from his backyard with an understandable look of surprise at seeing someone on his phone. I babbled on that I was his neighbor and that I needed to use his phone because my baby was locked inside my house and I couldn’t get in. He just kinda said ok and then believe it or not, disappeared into the back of the house! That was totally bizarre but then again, I wasn’t exactly my normal self either, lol.
Thankfully I got my husband back when I ran back a second time to call. I looked quite crazed running back and forth between the houses all the while calling through the sliding door that everything was going to be alright and begging her to flip the lock so I could come in!
OH man! I totally forgot about that! I gotta scrap it now! Lol. Thanks for the QP and the trip down Memory Lane.
I absolutely love your layouts! Your kids are so sweet.
