{Umm…yeah}

August 25th, 2008

My burn hurts now…just the slightest touch hurts. Ugh! I’m going to have some nice peeling skin in a few days.

So the cat is still hanging around. All the shelters around here are full and I don’t want to post pics on telephone poles and such to find the owner…so I guess it can hang around here if it wants to, but we aren’t feeding it or bringing it inside, no matter how much it meows at the door! It was laying on my chest when I was sitting outside today and then I remembered…fleas! I checked through it’s fur a bit and I did see one, so off it went and I told the girls not to pick it up again. I do NOT want fleas in the house!

Here are a few more layouts to show!

So I went back to the clinic today to get my urine checked again. I thought maybe because it had been less than a day off the antibiotics when I last had it checked that that is why it was negative for bacteria. So…I still don’t have a UTI but she said maybe because I’ve been off the antibiotics for almost a week it might show something, if there is anything to show. (I REALLY hope something shows on the culture!) Otherwise, I think I am looking at a mild case of IC. I’m glad it’s not worse…some people have to go to Pain Management because it hurts so much…I’d go crazy for sure.

Okay, that’s it from me! Just a short one today! :)

{Ugh…}

August 23rd, 2008

So, to fill you in on what’s been going on with me since last week…my UTI didn’t go away and I got my urine sent to be cultured on Tuesday. The doctor said if they find anything in it, they’ll call me within 2-3 days. If not, they won’t call and I might have something called Interstitial Cystitis. That doesn’t sound fun at all. So, since Tuesday I have been dealing with the need to pee and a bit of burning ALL the time. I haven’t felt like being online or scrapping and I’ve been going to bed earlier than usual just to get away from the feelings. I don’t wake up at night to use the bathroom and that is a Godsend I think. Anyway, I have a doctor’s app’t on Sept.5th to get a referral to a urologist and we’ll go from there with testing and such. My body just loves having problems…IBS, UTI’s, kidney stones, hives, etc. I’m so tired of being sick and having chronic annoyances all the time. :(

We had our annual street yard sale today. Not a whole lot of people did it, but in the spur of the moment this morning when I couldn’t sleep, I decided we should lug everything out that we wanted to sell. didn’t sell a whole lot…a toddler chair, baby gate, a baby outfit and a CD, but, it’s $18 more than we had this morning! I’m going to put a bunch of stuff on Kijiji (like Craig’s List) and see if anything will sell there. And umm…I got pretty burnt sitting outside for so long. I did put sunscreen on, but forgot to put it on my chest since I was wearing a V-neck t-shirt. It doesn’t feel as bad as it looks, which is good. It’s just a bit warm.We have had a kitten hanging around our yard since yesterday. Kristen wants to keep it and she keeps playing with it and then her friends brought over some of their cat food to feed it…nice. We don’t WANT a cat right now! It’s really cute and friendly, but we just don’t want one…so now I gotta post places to see if anyone lost it. I hope someone calls soon!

Anyway, I did scrap a few pages since the last time I posted but one I can’t post because the challenge isn’t up on La’s blog till Monday.

For SSD’s From Our Blog 2 Yours for 8/21, they wanted to know “who we were in high school”…yeah, I was the arty kid although I wasn’t a drama freak or an emo poet. :)

You Were the Arty Kid

Whether you were a drama freak or an emo poet, you definitely were expressive and unique.

You’re probably a little less weird these days - but even more talented!

Who Were You In High School?

That’s it for me…dunno when I’ll blog again, but you’ll be the first to know if I do! ;) Oh, and don’t forget, my Designer Spotlight ends tomorrow at Oscraps, so use the code JLD-Ospotlight to get $2 off your order and/or create a layout using my template available here and 75% my designs to be eligible for one of 3 $15 GC’s to my store!

{Where to start..}

August 18th, 2008

Okay, so I wasn’t bored on Thursday like I thought I was going to be. It was a wonderfully peaceful day then and on Friday too. DH and I went out to East Side Marios for supper then I had enough time before the mall closed to grab Breaking Dawn from Zellers for $18. The cashier (a teenaged boy) said “We have this here? I didn’t know we had good books here…” LOL

Friday I got up at 9:30 and went to the mechanics to get our oil changed. I didn’t mind that at all because I had my Breaking Dawn to read. :)  Then I went shopping at WalMart and got the rest of Kristen’s school clothes and school supplies. So I read half of BD on Friday (with no TV on or nuthin’…was SO nice!) And when DH came home from work, we decided to have spaghetti for supper and literally 10 seconds after I put the pasta in the water…the power went out. Ugh. Turns out there was some sort of car/truck accident or something that took down the power line because soon after the power went out, we could hear the sirens wailing. So, we ended up having BBQ’d burgers and a Caesar salad instead. Turned out great! The power was out for just a little over an hour so it wasn’t too bad. That night I started feeling like I had to pee a lot so I left DH a note (he was already in bed when I turned in) saying that he couldn’t leave in the morning until I went to the clinic to find out if I had a bladder infection or not. Turns out I did and the doctor gave me 3 extended release antibiotic pills. I have one left but am still feeling the infection so I might have to go back tomorrow to tell them 3 days wasn’t enough. I hope not though. So I spent the rest of Saturday feeling miserable and tired because I didn’t sleep well the night before. I finished reading Breaking Dawn by about 6:30 then scrapped a page.

Sunday I woke up at about 10:30 then got to cleaning some more…was in the middle of sweeping when DH brought the girls home. About 4 hours earlier than I’d expected, and within 1 minute, everyone was cranky and annoying. So there went my peaceful weekend. At least the girls slept in some this morning until 7:15am.

I am in the Designer Spotlight this week at Oscraps! Check it out here!

Layout sharing!

For SSD’s From Our Blog to Yours for August 14th, Angela asks what American accent we have. Since I don’t live in the US I don’t have an accent (;)) but I did the quiz anyway. :)

What American accent do you have?

Your Result: North Central

“North Central” is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw “Fargo” you probably didn’t think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.

Well, i think that’s it from me today! Don’t forget to go check out my spotlight challenge at Oscraps!

{T minus 3 days and counting}

August 11th, 2008

3 days until the girls go away for almost 4 days! Whoopie!! LOL I am seriously stoked and would be bitterly disappointed if it ends up not happening. I seriously need this time to myself. We went to the mall today and got Kristen’s hair cut (her idea…I wanted to wait a few more weeks) and I picked up the 2nd and 3rd books in the Twilight series so I’d have something to read this weekend. I’m about half way through the 2nd book already. I wanted to get them all in paperback, but Eclipse isn’t coming out in paper back until next May! Holy crap! I can NOT wait that long for that and Breaking Dawn! At least now that I’m getting the hard cover books I don’t have to slow down my reading. I am loving this series! It’s one of those books where you keep thinking about it after you’ve finished reading and start to think they are real people. I am going to see the movie in December even if I have to go by myself! I can’t wait!!

I’ve continued on with my scrapping (& non-designing) so here’s the newest! I still have one more but I can’t show you until Saturday since the kit isn’t out yet.

Have you guys checked out ScrapbookPictures lately? They are having another sale! 25% off selected size prints, which includes my 6×6! So, I went on eBay and bought a slipcase of 3 albums that go with the 2 slipcases I already have, in preparation for the 65+ layouts I am going to get printed out before the sale ends on the 23rd. Can’t pass up 75 cents per print!

Tomorrow I have my last laser hair removal treatment that has been pre-paid. If I think I need more treatments (I think I might do one more), I’ll have to shell out $115 per treatment. I am not looking forward to the pain or the redness or the messy looking face for a few days, but I can’t wait to be hair free…or at least have lighter thinner hair. No one should have to wax/shave/bleach unwanted hair for their whole life. Now to start saving up to do my legs :)

That’s it from me until I get bored on Thursday! LOL Terrah! :)

{I can’t wait! I’m SO excited…}

August 8th, 2008

My ILs are taking the girls with them to their “cottage” on Thursday and they won’t be home until Sunday! DH is going up on Friday night after work or Saturday morning and staying overnight to bring them home on Sunday so I will have a lot of “me” time! I can’t wait….this has been a LONG time coming! I’m going to clean out our linen closet as it’s become a mess and do a bit of other cleaning, but mostly I will be reading the Twilight series and scrapping. I won’t have a car so I can’t go shopping or anything, but Thursday night DH and I are going to the movies! I think the last time we went together was around Christmas! Did I mention I’m excited? LOL

So here’s this week’s From Our Blog 2 Yours at SSD:

You are an expert! You have correctly answered 12 of 15 questions.

On average, 392 of users who took the quiz gave 11.33 right answers.

I just guessed at a bunch of them, so I guess I was lucky. I’ve only seen Grease maybe twice.

Here is a layout I did yesterday and one I did a few weeks ago but couldn’t post it until now because the kit doesn’t come out until tomorrow. Our town had Natal Day fireworks on Wednesday. They were postponed because of the weather and we could see them from our deck. I took photos with my Rebel and just prayed they would come out okay. LOL DH took our P&S camera and took a video of them so we could show Kristen the next day. I wasn’t sure how to scrap fireworks photos well, but I guess it turned out okay!

Tomorrow we have a birthday party to go to for our friends son. He was in Kristen’s class last year but just moved away last month so he won’t be in her school this year. I’m bummed that Kaylee and I won’t have anyone to play with before and after school anymore. :( It’s a bowling party so Kristen and I are going to go and DH will stay home with Kaylee. It’ll be fun to hang out with Kathleen again! We’ll have to start setting up playdates and stuff. They are only about 15 minutes away but it seems like a lot when you only rely on seeing them at school to make plans.

Well, that’s it for me! I’ll be back in a few days with more layouts to share! :)

{FAIL 5}

August 6th, 2008

I didn’t know a man could get pregnant! :)

I scrapped my heart out yesterday! I did 4 pages, but I can only show you 3 because 1 was made with a kit of Misty’s that won’t be out until the 16th. She is so organized and ahead of schedule all the time!

I have a new Cheaters Challenge up in my Playroom! It’s based on the last layout shown above. :) Love that freebie of Kari’s! I’ll be watching what else she puts out at FPD with their Teacher’s Pet contest.

That’s it for me! I’ll be back on Saturday with more layouts I’m sure! :)

{What’s in a dream?}

August 4th, 2008

Okay, last night I was reading Twilight and decided to get some sleep just after 11…come midnight and I was still awake. Couldn’t stop thinking about the book! Had I known it’d take me that long to get to sleep, I woulda just kept reading! Anyway, I guess I had a weird dream once I got to sleep, maybe about the book, I dunno, but when I woke up, my wedding ring was on my right hand on top of my mother’s ring and my engagement ring was still on my left hand. that means I took off both rings because my wedding band is on first, then put my engagement ring back on and put my wedding band on my right hand. Why I would do this, I do not know. Weird! LOL

I spent hours this weekend fixing some blog posts that I imported from my old Typepad blog. The pictures didn’t import with, but if you clicked on the words, the picture would still pop up. Weird since my blog isn’t there anymore. Anyway, I had to click on the link, save the pic to my hard drive, edit the post and reinsert them. For a years worth of posts. Ugh. Done now though! So now all the blog posts from all 3 of my older blogs are here. Yippee!

For SSD’s From Our Blog to Yours (7/31) Kellie wants us to show a layout that makes us happy. The one below makes me happy because it is my favorite family pic ever, I was at my parents house for Thanksgiving so I was seeing my whole family, I was losing weight and feeling great, and remembering how life was when Kristen was that little makes me wish it was that time again.

Spiderwick Chronicles: “Once upon a time, upon moving into the run-down Spiderwick Estate with their mother, twin brothers Jared and Simon Grace, along with their sister Mallory, find themselves pulled into an alternate world full of faeries and other creatures. Unable to explain the strange disappearances and accidents that seem to be happening on a daily basis, the family blames it all on Jared. When he, Simon and Mallory investigate what’s really going on, they uncover the fantastic truth of the Spiderwick estate and of the creatures that inhabit it.”
This movie was really good! We watched it about 3 times before we had to return it. It was sort of like a Bridge to Terabithia/Chronicles of Narnia type of magical/mystical movie. Lots of great people doing voice overs for it too!

The Invasion: “While returning to Earth, the space-bus explodes and the fragments bring an alien virus that recodes the human DNA. In Washington, the psychiatrist Carol Bennell observes the modification of the behavior of one of her clients first, then in her former husband and finally in the population in general. Together with her friend Dr. Ben Driscoll & the researcher Dr. Stephen Galeano, they discover that the extraterrestrial epidemic affects human beings while sleeping and that her son Ollie, who had chickenpox when he was a baby, is immune to the disease and may save mankind from the outbreak.”

This was a great movie too! I think it was a tad slow to begin with and you sort of knew what was coming in certain spots, but it was still good and exciting to watch. :)

That’s it for me this crappy Natal Day weekend…it was yucky out all 3 days! At least I got to sleep in for 2 of the mornings :) Ta ta!

{New do, toot, layouts, freak out & a freebie!}

July 30th, 2008

Yep, I went and got my hair cut today. I hadn’t gotten it cut since January and there were no layers in it so it was weighing me down. When I get a thought in my head I just have to get it done so when I decided to get my hair cut today I thought “what am I supposed to do with the girls? I have no babysitter…” So, we went to the Dollar Store first and got a treat and a toy for each of them then to the book store to buy them each a book to look at. They sat in the waiting room and were pretty well behaved for the entire time I was in there! I was really surprised. LOL No pics though…sorry!

I have a big toot to share! I was one of the new girls selected to be on Lauren Griers CT! Yay! I have known Lauren since we were both selling at Elemental Scraps back in March of 2006 so I’m glad to be able to keep in touch with her and her designs! Click the blinkie on the side to go to her store at Sweet Shoppe Designs!

Here are the latest layouts!

OMGoodness I just had a scare…I was getting Kaylee dried off from being in the wading pool so she was n.a.k.e.d and Kristen wanted me to take her training wheels off of her bike, so I went outside and watched her go on her friends bike so I would know for sure that she could do it, and when I went to go inside to get the wrench to take them off…I couldn’t open the door. Kaylee had closed it and locked the deadbolt. Crap! So, I realized I could get in the patio door because it was open, but there are no stairs to our deck and it is one story up (our shed is underneath it). I went to my neighbor that is back behind us and asked him if he had a ladder. He said he could just climb up and go through the house to open the door. Once he got up to the deck I went around front and waited for him to open the door. It was taking a while (all the while Kaylee inside crying and freaking out, n.a.k.e.d when this strange man comes onto the deck) so I went and opened the door…went upstairs and I heard him saying to Kaylee that he was going to go let me in…Kaylee had unlocked the door sometime between me leaving the front door to get my neighbor and him climbing onto the deck. Ugh! I told him I was sorry and thanks anyway! LOL I hope Kaylee learned her lesson…no closing doors while Mommy is outside! Whew! What a day!

Here is a set of desktops using my collab with Misty called I So Pretty!

That’s it for me! I’m off to make chicken nuggets from scratch…I hope. LOL

{FAIL 4}

July 27th, 2008

I can just see the convo before this happened…”Sweetie, I need to get groceries but our car is still at the mechanics.” —-”Well, we do have my motorcycle…” —- “Yeah, but how will we get them all home?”

For those who didn’t grab the kit with free luggage tag album while it was available, you can now get the album in the store separately!

Layout sharing time! :) With that last layout I think I made the 40% off level at SSD! Woot!

For SSD’s From Our Blog 2 Yours for July 26th:

You Are Reggae Music

You’re laid back, friendly, and even a bit of a bum at times.

For you, life is too short to spend your time angry at the world.

But while you don’t take life too seriously, you’re deeper than people realize.

You’re very reflective, and a few key topics (like social justice and love) are very important to you.

What Kind of Music Are You?

Head over to Misty’s blog for a free desktop I made with her new collab called Sunkissed!

{She doesn’t need therapy!}

July 22nd, 2008

Speech therapy that is. Kaylee was a late talker and because of that, the pediatrician we were referred to for her growth wanted us to have a speech consultation to see what they say. Well, that was when Kaylee was 18 months old and she’s almost 3 now, so the therapist said Kaylee is doing just great and only needs to work on not cutting her words short (i.e saying “nana” instead of “banana”) So we just have to go back in 6 months to see how she’s doing and that’s it! Kaylee knows way more than I thought she did. She knew the difference between “he” & “she” and if something does not have something (point to the chicken that does NOT have any eggs). I didn’t really think she knew that stuff.

Also, yesterday we lost Kaylee’s soothers (pacifiers) and when nap time came we still didn’t have them so she took her nap sootherless. It went fine and even though DH found her soothers before bedtime, we let on that they were still lost so she went to bed without them again. Now for her nap today she doesn’t have them and hasn’t been crying, but I have had to go up there a few times because she just won’t go to sleep! Keeps playing! I really like my time alone while she’s sleeping, so she can’t stop taking naps! She just can’t! LOL

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Thanks to everyone who bought the I So Pretty kit and downloaded the free alpha during the weekend! I appreciate it (& the nice comments) very much! If you missed the alpha, I will be putting it into my stores very soon.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Here’s some layouts I’ve done since I posted on Saturday!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Movie review time! I watched 4 movies since Friday night! Here they are in the order I watched them:

The Eye: “Sydney, a young, blind violinist is given the chance to see for the first time since childhood through a miraculous corneal transplant. As Sydney adjusts to a dizzying new world of colors and shapes, she is haunted by frightening visions of death itself capturing the doomed and dragging them away from the world of the living. Terrorized and on the brink of insanity, Sydney must discover whose eyes she has inherited, and what secret visions they have held

This movie was creepy (but not TOO creepy) and gave me a jump a few times. Great movie and I’d probably see it again!

Resident Evil: Extinction: “Years after the Raccoon City disaster, Alice is on her own; aware that she has become a liability and could endanger those around her, she is struggling to survive and bring down the Umbrella Corporation led by the sinister Albert Wesker and head researcher Dr. Isaacs. Meanwhile, traveling through the Nevada Desert and the ruins of Las Vegas, Carlos Olivera, L.J., and new survivors K-Mart, Claire Redfield, and Nurse Betty must fight to survive extinction against hordes of zombies, killer crows and the most terrifying creatures created as a result of the deadly T-Virus that has killed millions.”

I didn’t see Resident Evil: Apocalypse (the second of the series), so I didn’t understand some of it, but it was a pretty good movie overall. I am going to rent the second one soon but I don’t think I feel the need to see this series over and over again. Still a good movie though :)

Hot Fuzz: “Top London cop, PC Nicholas Angel is good. Too good. And to stop the rest of his team looking bad, he is reassigned to the quiet town of Sandford. He is paired with Danny Butterman, who countlessly questions him on the action lifestyle. Everything seems quiet for Angel, until two actors are found decapitated. It is address to as an accident, but Angel isn’t going to accept that, especially when more and more people turn up dead. Angel and Danny clash with everyone, whilst trying to uncover the truth behind the mystery of the apparent “accidents”.”

I would never have turned the channel to watch this if it hadn’t been for my husband. I must say though, that it was really funny, but sort of serious at the same time. It’s a British film, so you just know it will be funny if it says it’s a comedy. LOL It’s from the makers of “Shaun of the Dead” which we haven’t seen yet but I want to! Funny funny stuff!

Stardust: “The passage from this world to the fantasy kingdom of Stormhold is through a breech in a wall beside an English village. In the 1800s, a boy becomes a man when he ventures through the breech in pursuit of a fallen star, to prove his love for the village beauty. The star is no lump of rock, it’s a maiden, Yvaine. Tristan, the youth, is not the only one looking for her: three witches, led by Lamia, want her heart to make them young; and, the sons of the dead king of Stormhold want her because she holds a ruby that will give one of them title to the throne. Assisting Tristan are his mother, the victim of a spell, and a transvestite pirate of the skies. Will Tristan win his true love

I must admit, I missed the first half hour of this movie, but the rest was great! It’s sort of like Bridge to Terabithia, Spiderwick Chronicles, etc. Really liked it and want to watch it again, this time with my girls! (Although looking at the witches might be a bit scary for younger kids)

Speaking of the Spiderwick Chronicles, I forgot to review it when we watched it last week. I’ll do that next time!

Alrighty, I think that’s it from me! Check y’all later!
